GRACE Cares is always in need of volunteers. The following are just a few ways you or your group can help.

Doctors: Travel to India with the Lucknow Project during the summer.

Volunteer Trips: Go to the Dominican Republic to build homes, stoves, or classrooms. Also, you can Work on the farm, teach wood working, welding or other trades. See our Volunteer Trips page for more details.

Host a Fundraiser: School groups, community groups, church groups, individuals, and families have hosted many successful fundraisers and collections for GRACE Cares or a specific Project. Past fundraising activities include dinners, parties, bar nights, jewelry sales, concerts, fair games, and setting up an informational table on a college campus. Please contact us in advance to ensure compliance with our Solicitation Policy.

91 cents of every $1 donation goes directly to programs:

  • $50 can educate a child for 3 months
  • $100 can support health education for a whole community for 1 month
  • $250 can provide water filters for 10 families
  • $500 can save trees by supporting efficient stoves for 10 families

Donate Proceeds: Artists, musicians, and business owners have all donated a portion of the proceeds from a performance, sale of a specific item, or sales on a designated day to benefit a project. Visit Vermont Poet for an example.

Project Interns: Spend one or two months at one of our project locations working with the local Project Director. In the Summer of 2011, two graduate students launched the Stove Project in the Dominican Republic and helped create the NGO HEARTS DR.

GRACE Cares Interns: Interns can work on a variety of assignments at the organizational level. Past interns have developed materials for the Appleseed Health program, organized fundraisers, and performed research. Summer and school year opportunities are flexible and rewarding. Inquiries should be directed to GRACE Cares President Zoe Kopp.

Grant Writing: We are always looking for assistance in applying for grant money for our current and planned projects. Training can be provided but experienced grant writers always welcome.
